The striker moved to Arsenal after leaving Sporting Lisbon in July

Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres was left out from the new manager's maiden Swedish national squad, while Liverpool striker the talented attacker secured selection

Gyokeres is set to undergo more medical tests in the coming days following concerns he sustained a muscle problem in the Gunners's Premier League victory against Burnley last weekend

Gyokeres was absent from Arsenal' Champions League success versus the Czech side on Tuesday

Isak Makes Comeback

Isak, who hasn't featured since 22 October owing to a groin problem, has been chosen for the World Cup games versus Switzerland (15 November) and Slovenia (18 November)

Additional Premier League Selections

  • Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering from concussion
  • Newcastle wide player Anthony Elanga

Both athletes were included in the England-based contingent named by ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss the new Swedish coach

The New Manager's Appointment

Potter was appointed the Swedish federation initially on a short-term basis in late October, under four weeks following he was dismissed from West Ham

Previous boss the Danish coach was fired after Sweden's setback to the Kosovan team on 13 October, an outcome which rendered automatic qualification in Group B out of reach

Present Standing

Sweden are currently bottom in Group B with only a single point in their opening four games

Even if they don't manage to claim the runner-up spot, they could still be involved in the secondary qualification as a result thanks to their showing in the latest UEFA competition
